Problem Installing Vista

I'm trying to install beta 2 and i cant get it done because it always tells me that setup encounters an internal error....
What do I do to fix this
Running Windows XP HOme Asus a7n8x-e mobo AMD Barton 2600+ 1GB Corsair XMS Xtreme 300GB western digital
How do install correctly

When trying to install Vista beta2 I'm having a problem. I downloaded it from Microsoft and they sent an e-mail with the product key. When completing the typing of the product key and clicking next, the program says there is a problem with the product key and will not install. Anyone else had this problem. I am installing the product key correctly.

Yeah, I've definitely been experiencing the same thing. RC1 and RC2. Clean installs, upgrades, every possible combination...
Machine restarts once. Says it's preparing to run windows vista for the very first time. Goes back to install screen and says "Completing Installation." Screen goes black. HDD indicator eventually stops blinking. Leave it on all night and nothing changes. Powering down and rebooting gives a screen that says install was not successful, please retry.
Dozens of attempts yield the same results...

Hi, I'v been trying to install vista withg no luck, tried both 32bit and 64bit every time I get the "setup could not get information about the disks on your computer" mesage after I click on "install now". I'v tried installing from in win XP and booting the DVD samething both times I have a Gigabyte GA-K8NS - nVIDIA nForce3 250 I got 2 hard drives one SATA 120gig with XP home on it, and one PATA 80gig this is the one I'm wanting to put vista on

Got it working, had an hardware prob on my pata drive, I just removed it put in an old 20gig and alls well I did'nt even have to put in any drivers for vist to see mu sata drive. Oh one more this vista rocks "TheCap" wrote in message

It's also possible there's some bug in the BIOS. Drives of different sizes get handled differently and of course that is prone to a ton of bugs. Same goes for SATA, it may get handled totally differently from PATA just by flipping some BIOS setting. If you look at the groups there's quite many people with nForce and SATA issues.
